District Chairman 2020 – 2021
Margaret Nosowska
Inner Wheel Club of
Rugby
Welcome to the website of Inner Wheel, one of the largest women’s voluntary movements in the world, established in the early 20th century near Manchester. We are now to be found in over a hundred countries worldwide and have around 100,000 members. Here in the Midlands, in our District 6, we have almost 20 clubs and around 500 members.
In this very strange year, Inner Wheel continues to work, though not quite as usual! I have the privilege of taking over as District Chairman for the year 2020/21 and look forward to a good and interesting year in post. My choice of District charity for this year is perhaps not well known: The Sick Children’s Trust. It accommodates parents while children are gravely ill at our main children’s hospitals, in many parts of England.
Together, as Inner Wheelers this year, we are discovering ways of running our clubs during lockdown, using a mixture of common sense and IT; many of us are also discovering new skills and making new friends.
New members usually join a club convenient to them and often find old friends there already. Each Club takes on some local and international charity work, within their framework of a year long programme of events for members. This may contain anything from talks to bridge and fashion shows, with many chances to enjoy a meal together. The aim is to be pleasantly and usefully occupied in helping those who need a hand. We also welcome ideas for good causes which we could support.
Enquiries about membership, or the world of Inner wheel, are always welcome! Why not find out more? Just read on…...
With all best wishes for your health and safety. Margaret x
