District Chairman 2019 – 2020   Claire Mangan

Inner Wheel Club of

Henley in Arden

Welcome to our website and to the world of Inner Wheel, an international organisation for women offering friendship and fellowship, with the opportunity to help others in Great Britain and Ireland as well as internationally.

Inner Wheel has a presence in 104 countries with over 108,000 members. We are even represented at The United Nations.

Clubs vary in size but all have the same goals: to contribute to our world and make a difference no matter how small that may be. In District 6 we have 21 clubs all waiting to welcome new members.

I have chosen two charities for my year – The Women’s Refuge and Breast Cancer Haven.

For me it is a great honour and privilege to serve as District Chairman. I will endeavour to serve you all to the best of my ability.

These are very difficult times for us all and on the District 6 News page I have given a personal update from me.
Stay safe and healthy.

Yours in Friendship

DIFFICULT TIMES

With the difficult times that we are in currently, a number of events have had to be cancelled unfortunately. This includes the Association Inner Wheel Conference in April and many Club events and activities. Please stay home and stay safe. Our March 2020 District Magazine, All About 6, is available for you to read online.

SUPPORTING   THE NHS

Right across the District Inner Wheel members have been putting their sewing talents to good use making items for the NHS. This has included scrubs, hats and bags. Pictured are hats that have been made for staff in Warwick Hospital and Stratford GP Surgeries by Stratford members Vivien and Veronica.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Some of the many items collected by Redditch IW members to support the NHS and local charities during the COVID 19 crisis. Visit their page for a full list of their wonderful achievements.

ZOOMING IN

Staying in doesn't mean that you can't still get together and have a Meeting!  District 6 Clubs have been using the virtual Meeting Room Zoom to connect and meet up whilst in isolation. Pictured is Geraldine Tsakiraki from the Emmaus charity  talking to Coventry IW members about the charity's work via Zoom.

Our IIW 3-year Social Project in this country is Period Poverty - Dignity for Women and Girls. We are working closely with charities, schools, women's refuges,  and supermarkets to highight the issues.

District Chairman Claire has selected The Women’s Refuge and Breast Cancer Haven as her charities.

The District 6 International Charity is the Lemon Tree Trusttransforming refugee camps, one garden at a time.

The National President, Enid Law, has chosen Riding for the Disabled for her charity.

The International President, Phyllis Charter, has chosen 'Together We Can' as her theme.
