Welcome to Inner Wheel!

I am honoured to be serving as the District Chairman this year and look forward to visiting our 22 clubs in  Warwickshire, West Midlands, parts of Worcestershire and Staffordshire.  Friendship is at the core of all that is done and achieved by members of Inner Wheel and each Club has its own social events and fund raising projects. My chosen charity for this year is Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.

If you are not a member of Inner Wheel do come and visit a club near you, you will be made most welcome.

Warm Wishes

Jill

District Chairman 2018/19

RETAIL THERAPY!

At the recent District 6 Meeting Clubs provided a variety of stalls to raise money for their own local charities. It gave a real buzz to the meeting, enabling members to mix District business with some pre Christmas retail therapy!

ATHERSTONE ACTIVITIES

A very busy weekend for Atherstone members with the

Hospice Cake stall on Saturday morning

followed in the afternoon with a Toy Tombola. This was at the Memorial Hall and had over 450 assorted toys with a prize  everytime!

FABULOUSLY FASHIONABLE!

Members of the Arbury Club enjoyed their annual Fashion show recently giving the audience a chance to stock up their wardrobe with bargain priced outfits.

Happily the main ones to benefit from this fund raising event were this year's three chosen charities:  Myton Hospice, a local special school and a local wildlife rescue centre.

FOUNTAIN PEN FACTS!

Mike West recently gave a talk to Coventry members on the  ”History of the Fountain Pen”.

We used quill pens for over 500 years and following the decline of the quill  knives were still manufactured but became known as desk knives, stationery knives or latterly as the name stuck "pen" knives.
