Welcome to the Inner Wheel Club of Hall Green
About the Club:
Our ten members enjoy fellowship and friendship at our monthly meetings, and at occasional coffee mornings, afternoon teas and lunches. This year, rather than selecting, say, a home and an overseas charity to support, these events give us the opportunity to help an organisation close to the heart of a particular member, and anyone is free to host an event on this basis.
We sometimes invite a speaker to our meetings, and from time to time a member will regale us by sharing recollections of a special event in her life – long past, or recent.
In any event, conversation then flows, and laughter often erupts.
Several of us are hooked on knitting (and crochet), making practical and cheerful garments, accessories, blankets and knee rugs, for folk in desperate need around the world. The International Service Rally provides a golden opportunity for us to pool our knitting with that from other clubs, for collection by Aid Trust International, at the International Service Rally in May each year.
Although most of our meetings are held in the evening, in November, January and February we partake of afternoon tea instead. December usually finds us at a member’s home celebrating, and we travel further afield in April for a lunch outing, perhaps adjacent to a place of interest.
