International Inner Wheel is the administrative body that acts as the umbrella for the organisation worldwide. We are one of the largest women's service voluntary organisations in the world and are active in more than 104 countries. We have more than 103,000 members in 3,895 Clubs.
Inner Wheel clubs, districts and countries take part in a wide range of work for charities and causes across the world with the aim of helping people live better lives.
This year's International President is Phyllis Charter whose theme is 'Together We Can'.
“Together we can” are three meaningful words and by working together within the 104 countries that Inner Wheel is represented, we can prove that Inner Wheel members can achieve their dreams and make a difference in this ever changing world whilst enjoying friendships with a real purpose.
Women are great leaders and, in Inner Wheel, together we can make the world a safer and better place for all to live. By working together anything can be achieved, whether it be disease awareness, poverty prevention, accessible education, safeguarding the environment, skills training, female hygiene provisions, or the many other situations where the improvement of the safety and wellbeing of women and their families are concerned.
An asteroid in deep space has been dedicated to Margarette Oliver Golding the founding President of Inner Wheel – rather unromantically officially known as:8148 Golding = 1985 CR2.
The asteroid was discovered on 15 February 1985 by H. Debehogne at the European Southern Observatory. Its new name was suggested by astronomer Mario Di Martino. You can read the full, fascinating story on www.internationalinnerwheel.org.

The definition of an asteroid, particularly in connection with Mars and Jupiter, is interesting, to say the least.
An asteroid is: A small rocky body orbiting the sun. Very many, varying greatly in size, exist between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter and in the world of astrology, harmonious Mars/Jupiter aspects are a marker of worldly comfort and financial acuity. Descriptions which apply to a person associated with Mars and Jupiter include the words: energetic, resourcefulness, frankness, outspokenness, pioneering and adventurous - as well as executive ability, an entrepreneurial attitude, defending one’s beliefs. Others include: enthusiasm, energy and looking on the bright side, whilst having a verve for travel, the big outdoors, sporting competitiveness and energetic exercise – perhaps including that of the mind, as well as an interest in general public affairs.
Now why could we think that Asteroid 8148 Golding =
1985 CR2 is in just the right place?
